BTS SMART-D utilizes new digital TV cameras equipped with highly sensitive CCD sensors. This feature combined with new more compact and powerful strobes allows operation in all types of lighting conditions, including daylight.
BTS SMART-D represents an improvement in the performance of the highly flexible SMART systems already appreciated by researchers throughout the world who need to be able to rely on a daily basis on a system that is easy to configure and which can be used under difficult environmental conditions. Thanks to its innovative architecture and its sophisticated calibration algorithms for three-dimensional tracking of the markers and reconstruction of their position SMART-D is capable of capturing the quickest and most imperceptible of movements.
BTS SMART-D is the most advanced system for clinical work, for use in research, in sport and in industry. Its extensive facilities, flexibility and accuracy make it an invaluable tool for multifactorial motion analysis in numerous fields of application: Biomechanical Analysis, Sport, Robotics, Exercise Science, Computer Graphics, Computer Vision, Virtual Reality, etc. The multifactorial motion analysis capability allows kinematic data to be combined with information provided by analogue devices such as force platforms, electromyography units, sensored treadmills and others.
BTS SMART-D is supplied with BTS SMART-Analyzer and optionally with BTS SMART-Clinic or BTS SMART-Performance. The flexibility afforded by the former is especially suited to the needs of researchers whilst the latter is more suited for performing routine clinical measurements.
up to1.4 Mp interchangeable, C-mount compatibile: greyscale blob feature analysis Options: Up to 80 channel analogue acquisition board - replaces 32 channel boardMain features
Main features:
Precision, speed and accuracy
BTS SMART-D utilises new digital cameras and an innovative compact hardware architecture which results in :
- accurate positioning and tracking of the markers
- high spatial and temporal resolution
- real time processing of the acquired data
Quick and easy calibration
BTS SMART-D makes use of the THOR2 calibration system which has the following advantages:
- a setup can be performed quickly even with obstacles partially obscuring a
camera’s field of view.
- multiple volumes of different sizes covered by subsets of cameras acquiring
simultaneously can be set up.
Operation in demanding lighting conditions
The system can work in demanding lighting conditions without compromising precision and accuracy because:
- it gets rid of the reflected signals from metal objects as treadmills or walkers.
- it is not affected by natural light and can therefore be used outdoors
(athletic stadiums) etc.
Accurate synchronization of data
The kinematic, kinetic, electromyographic and video information is always synchronized, and remains so even during long acquisitions. All the data collected is time-stamped. The system uses the time stamp to order the data before recording it.
Integration with Analogue Devices
The electronics for the acquisition, processing and analysis of data is included in a single unit which can be equipped with up to 80 analogue channels for receiving and synchronising data received from:
- EMG’s
- Force platforms
- Sensorized treadmills and cycle ergometers
- Haptic devices
