FScan is a measurement system that captures dynamic in-shoe pressure information revealing interaction between foot and footwear. Unlike traditional visual observation of foot function and gait, F-Scan quantifies contact pressure distribution and timing. It can be used to determine the dynamic interaction of standard footwear with or without ortheses, to detect gait abnormalities or to evaluate the potential or the result of surgery.
The system comprises a very thin sensor that is placed under the foot of the patient, a branch unit applied to the ankle and a processing station fitted with an acquisition card and specific control software.
The data is presented on a frame by frame basis, played as a video or displayed in 2D or 3D.
F-Scan provides dynamic-functional data for a complete and documentable evaluation of the foot being examined.

Three versions available:
F-Scan® - F-Scan provides bipedal plantar pressures and force measurement using paper-thin sensors placed inside the shoe to address and treat foot, gait, and posture related disorders. Now available with VersaTek technology.

F-Scan® Mobile - F-Scan Mobile is a light weight, portable version of the F-Scan providing greater flexibility for measuring foot pressures while running, jumping, climbing, or participating in sports.

F-Scan® Lite - F-Scan Lite is a single foot pressure analysis system that allows you to view pressure distribution of one foot at a time and to record the same information for playback and analysis of both feet.

Applications

Applications:
  • Screen for disorders secondary to diabetes or other neuropathic issues
  • Regulate weight bearing after surgery
  • Monitor degenerative foot disorders
  • Assess high pressures due to ray hypomobility
  • Immediate determination of orthotic efficiency
  • Pre- and post-surgical evaluations
  • Identify areas of potential ulceration

Benefits

Benefits:
  • Manage treatment of foot inside the shoe
  • Increase orthotic footwear performance
  • Reduce cost by reducing the need for follow-up and orthotic adjustments
  • More referrals by increasing patient satisfaction
  • Supporting documentation for fee-for-service approach or insurance claims
